Is there a limit to the size rod I can put in the Ice Rigger? You can put any length rod in as long as the diameter of the handle is 1 1/2” or less.
How do I keep the flag from tripping when fishing larger bait? Slide the orange retainer and the orange end cap on the flag release up against the eye hook. This puts more drag on the flag release.
On windy days do you have a problem with the flag releasing due to the wind? Not as long as the flag wire is in the notch on the flag release.
Can I adjust the tension on the release? Yes. The closer to the end of the line clip you place your line the lighter the release. We recommend using the lightest release possible.
SUMMER FISHING? Can I use the Ice Rigger in the summer for pier and bank fishing? Absolutely! Set up is simple. Cast your rod, open your bail, and place the rod in the rod holder. Place the line in the line clip and put the flag under the release. We recommend using the anchor eye on the rear of the Ice Rigger.
How do I keep ice from building up on my set-up? Spray WD-40 on your spool of line and this will prevent spool freeze-up. On cold cloudy days use a hole cover to prevent the ice hole from freezing.
